Balanced Development That Will Protect Our Neighborhoods and Greenspace

In order to ensure vitality and dynamism, a community must move forward, looking to the future. Several factors, such as economic development and education, contribute to this movement. Economic development and education ensures jobs.

However, development must be measured. This means that the final product must serve a common good; a common good cannot be achieved without equal participation in the development process. The integrity of neighborhoods must be protected. My preservation of green space has included opening new parks, revitalizing existing parks and installing lightning warning systems.

Tourism and the marine industry are also key components to the survival and enrichment of Fort Lauderdale. I have been and will always be an advocate for tourism and look forward to promoting our great City as a welcoming and hospitable destination for everyone. Hotel occupancy in the City has increased during the past year and I'll continue seek ways to promote our City.
